This is a beautiful PRINT of Dave Stevens’ The Rocketeer by artist and NCS President Bill Morrison. Bill created the illustration back in the 1990s when he was an artist with Willardson and Associates, an illustration firm in California that was heavily involved in creating art for movie advertising campaigns. Bill created this art as a proposal to Disney for their poster for The Rocketeer movie they were producing. Bill’s design wasn’t chosen, but it is a stellar piece of art and you now have an opportunity to bid on this beautiful 11x17” print on heavy paper. It comes signed by the artist who donated this from his personal collection.
Bill Morrison’s career started as an illustrator for movie posters back in the 1980s and 1990s with such classics as the horror film House, and believe it or not, many for Disney movies such as re-releases of Peter Pan, Cinderella, Bambi, & The Jungle Book, and the first run posters for Oliver & Company, Mickey Mouse in Prince and the Pauper, and The Little Mermaid (yes, the one of urban legend fame). For the past 25 years, Bill has been working with Matt Groening at Bongo Comics art directing many comic books and hard cover Simpsons books. Somewhere in all of that, Bill created his own comics Roswell: Little Green Man and the Dark Horse Comics mini-series Dead Vengeance.
