In 2015, the National Cartoonists Society created a Star Wars themed poster that was sold at their booth at the San Diego Comic Con. Many cartoonists from the NCS created their own take of George Lucas’ famous characters, often including their own characters that they are known for. We are happy to be offering several of the original drawings by our members from that print in our eBay auctions.
This caricature of a geriatric Han Solo and Chewbacca comes to us from former NCS president and current MAD Magazine caricature champ Tom Richmond. Tom’s final piece appeared on our NCS poster in glorious digital color, along with the words “Chewie… we’re in a HOME!” This is Tom’s brilliant original ink drawing that we are offering for sale today.
Drawn in ink on an 8x12” piece of Bristol board, elderly Han & Chewie comes signed “Madly! Tom Richmond” in the lower left corner.
