Jeff Keane

In 2015, the National Cartoonists Society created a Star Wars themed poster that was sold at their booth at the San Diego Comic Con. Many cartoonists from the NCS created their own take of George Lucas’ famous characters, often including their own characters that they are known for. We are happy to be offering several of the original drawings by our members from that print in our eBay auctions.

If you were ever wondering what the kids from The Family Circus syndicated comic strip would look like as Star Wars characters, wonder no more. Little Jeffy from the strip, Jeff Keane, has drawn the famous foursome in tribute to the great space epic. Measuring in at 8.5x11” on Bristol board, Jeff inked and watercolored this beautiful piece that was reproduced on our NCS poster. It is signed.

Bil Keane first created The Family Circus in 1960 basing it on his own family life. While in real life he actually had five children, one of them grew up to work with his father on the strip. Jeff eventually took over all duties on the strip after Bil passed away in 2011. Darth Vader passed on the Force to his son, Bil passed on The Family Circus to his son.

Be sure to visit our other auctions to see more Star Wars interpretations by other famous cartoonists!
