John Hambrock

In 2015, the National Cartoonists Society created a Star Wars themed poster that was sold at their booth at the San Diego Comic Con. Many cartoonists from the NCS created their own take of George Lucas’ famous characters, often including their own characters that they are known for. We are happy to be offering several of the original drawings by our members from that print in our eBay auctions.

Swinging a lightsaber for the NCS are John Hambrock’s characters from his syndicated comic strip The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee. Hambrock donates this charming inked drawing of Edison with a Princess Leia of the rodent variety. But wait! There’s more! On the reverse side of this 5x7” piece of Bristol comes a second drawing. That’s right, you get TWO for the price of ONE! On the back is a pencil version of another Star Wars idea that Hambrock decided not to finalize for the NCS poster. The bonus pencil drawing is signed, the inked side is not signed.

Be sure to visit our other auctions to see more Star Wars interpretations by other famous cartoonists!
